The Coffee Map of Kyiv Seminary – part 1

with 3 comments

At Academic Office we have a privilege of offering every day fresh and hot coffee to seminary faculty and personnel, who connected to academic office in anyway, thus our library staff, translators and even administrative director make their step into our office with empty cups and leave it having them filled. When the coffee is ready, I send this message via Skype to those who use it at KTS, ‘Good morning people of KTS. AO has coffee for everyone of you’. One thing though is still a mystery to me; I have no clue how David King learns when we have our coffee ready. As far as I know, he does not use Skype but he is always in time for coffee. He simply comes in with the cup and finds the coffee ready for himself. Sometimes he misses it, which happens seldom; rather I am late with having it ready for him. He does not complain but comes again a few minutes later.

There are several places in the seminary where coffee is prepared and served: 1) Office of National Center for Youth Ministry (regularly referred to as YM Office); 2) Pastor’s Office; 3) Faculty Office; 4) Academic Office and last but not least the 5th one is the President’s Office. It seems like the latter one was originally there all the time since the school’s birth, though I may err on this one. Each source of hot coffee has its own customers. I develop the Coffee Map of Kyiv Seminary that can represent the nature of coffee production and consumption in our school.

This map and this post is only first part in my series of caffeine influence at Kyiv Seminary. I do not know at this time how many posts it will take to get you the full picture of this important aspect of our academic life.

  2. After I finished with this Map (rev.1) and continued my research of this important topic I remembered your office. You can expect your office to appear on next (rev 2) release of the Coffee Map.
