In tune to my previous post I want to share about last week encounter with TobyMac. I am familiar with TobyMac from my undergrad years by his performance as one of DC Talk band members. And now as I listen to his latest song “Made to Love” from Portable Sounds solo album I enjoy this musically and lyrically delightful reminder of greatest commandment of all: to love our Creator. As Moses passed it down to us: “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might” (Deuteronomy 6:5). The words of the song also remind me of Apostle John’s first letter: “We love because he first loved us” (1 John 4:19). This powerful and life transforming truth finds such expression in this song.

I like this song also for this is a prayer type song. This song I can sing along and as I sing I can think deeply and emotionally of God, who made me to love Him and love my neighbor and my brother and sister in Christ.
