You Can Help

with 4 comments

Please prayerfully consider these opportunities to participate in ministry of Kyiv Theological Seminary!

There are several projects that the seminary needs external help to accomplish.

Funds are needed for:

1. Student dormitory room needs remodeling (interior walls, add more lights) in order to become an office space. No window there anymore due to renovation of main building and blocking of the window.
2.

TEACHING
Have you got theological education, expertise and teaching experience? Why not to consider join our visiting faculty? Check our Academic Catalog for course descriptions; maybe you can see the match! Check also our Doctrinal Statement to make sure we share the common ground of belief.

Many of our courses are two week intensives, so you may find it convenient for you to come and teach a complete course. It can be also challenging to teach 4 hours a day for 10 days but at the same time rewarding beyond measure.

Drop me a line to start conversation about it and let’s see how the Lord leads. There are steps to the goal and I’ll walk this way together with you.

LIBRARY TEXTBOOK AND ALUMNI BOOK PROJECT (Posted: Oct. 10, 2006)

Preaching is one of the areas of Slavic Churches which should be improved and developed. In this especially crucial area of church life there is a tendency to focus on moralization and local tradition rather than Christ and His teaching. I believe this book, diligently read and applied can help our ministers to improve their preaching and be more effective in evangelizing the lost and building up the saved.

Driven by this conviction we begin this project. The project has two objectives: #1 provide seminary library with sufficient number of copies; #2: provide KTS alumni with this top quality resource in homiletics.

In our Homiletics 1 class we use Bryan Chapel’s Christ-Centered Preaching: Redeeming Expository Preaching as a textbook. Until today we used translation of several chapters from this book.

I am very glad to inform you that first edition of this book (MI: Baker, 1994) has just been released in Russian. Russian edition is hard covered with white paper. According to the publisher the first print is only 500 copies!

  1. I am glad to say that we have enough funds for buying sufficient number of copies of Chapell’s book in Russian for our library. PTL!

  2. Христоцентричная проповедь звучало бы гораздо лкчше. Понятно, что Вы не издатель, просто из наилучших пожеланий.
